Call of the Canyon Cafe, a Local Restaurant Delight

Call of the Canyon's famous Cowboy beans
The Call of the Canyon CafĂ©, nestled in at 109 N Main St, is serving up  five star home-style cuisine. The Call of the Canyon Cafe offers a wide selection of home-style favorites in a cozy southwestern atmosphere fit for a lunch break or a casual dining experience.

Wraps, unique salads, burritos, soups and freshly made sandwiches are all available at the Call of the Canyon Cafe. The cowboy beans are a  personal favorite, pinto beans are simmered with ham, onions, mild green chilies and the cafes own seasoning to create a hearty combination that is everything home-style. For the sandwich eaters, the cornville corned beef is a great choice: corned beef is piled high on grilled rye bread, topped with sauerkraut, swiss cheese, mayonnaise and the cafes own personal touch-Russian dressing. Vegetarians can enjoy options like the verde valley veggie: cucumbers, slaw, muenster cheese, lettuce and tomato are all married on dark pumpernickel bread.

DiBenedetto's Italian Bistro is for Lovers

Italian lovers can unite at DiBenedetto’s Italian bistro. Located at 121 S Main St, DiBenedetto’s Italian bistro is serving exceptional food, Tuscan style. This quaint bistro offers a menu full of Italian food at its finest, paired with fine wines and a charming atmosphere.

Antipasto, fresh mussels and toasted baguettes topped with bruschette are just a few of the appetizers offered at DiBenedetto’s Italian bistro. Unique Italian style salads also call DiBenedetto’s menu home, and can be topped with an array of Italian style dressings.

For dinner, Italian favorites like: chicken florentine, veal scallopine, lasagna and Tuscan chicken ravioli are offered as entrees and are all served alongside extra virgin olive oil and bread. A personal favorite of mine, the portabella ravioli, is served with ravioli stuffed full of portabella mushrooms and covered with a creamy red wine sauce. For the seafood lovers, the seafood casino hits the spot: Shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels and penne pasta are married with a zesty marinara wine sauce for a delightful seafood pasta dish. Dessert lovers can also enjoy this authentic Italian bistro with dishes including: marscapone cheesecake, tiramisu and spumoni ice cream.

With the authentic Italian cuisine, fine wine and the picturesque atmosphere, DiBenedetto’s Italian bistro is a great place for anniversary parties, birthdays or just a romantic Italian dinner for two. This little piece of the Tuscan country does have varying hours, so clientele should be sure to check the hours for lunch and dinner as well as lounge hours.

Naslada Bistro: Very Delicious, Enjoyable

Naslada Bistro, located at 182 S. Main St is offering Bowling Green a dining experience well deserved of a visit. Since the opening of the first restaurant in 2003, Naslada's new location has been serving the Bowling Green community fresh authentic European cuisine in a interesting atmosphere. Owner of  Naslada Bistro, Boby Mitov, said " I started Naslada Bistro because I wanted a unique family restaurant for Bowling Green, not a chain" Mitov continued " we purchase ingredients locally, so people know where their food is coming from."

For starters, customers can choose from items ranging from Bruschetta to grape leaves. Soups, salads and freshly made paninis are all served up at Naslada Bistro. The portabella panini is a personal favorite of mine: portabella mushrooms, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheeses, Bulgarian feta cheese, tomatoes, red onion and olive oil are all embedded in a crusty grain bun, leaving any panini fan happy. A list of fabulous gourmet dishes are also available: authentic chicken paprikash, chicken piccata and beef goulash stroganoff are just a few. Organic dishes also call Naslada Bistro's menu home with choices like the drunken chicken, a golden organic fed half chicken is baked and served with beer flavored baby potatoes, enough for two to share.
Dessert is a show at Naslada bistro, with table side creations like the French crepes flambe, a sweet combination of apricot, strawberry or chocolate crepes flambeed in a light rum syrup.

Authentic European wines can also be found at Naslada Bistro. Some of the importing countries include: Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy and Greece. These fine wines are available by the glass or by the bottle and can be consumed in-house or specially sealed by the bistro staff and taken home according to Ohio law.

Naslada Bistro offers specials Friday and Saturday with choices not offered on the menu. Naslada Bistro can also be reserved on Sundays for private parties, and offers a bistro and wine store that offers an exclusive selection of European goods.

With Naslada's casual Bulgarian atmosphere and authentic European cuisine, customers will feel like they've just stepped out of the European dining scene.

Owner of Naslada Bistro, Boby Mitov, explains the dining experience offered at Naslada bistro.
